Job Title: Quality Control Specialist (Composites, Aerospace, Defense & Motorsports)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Composites Quality Control Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all quality related documentation and testing. This comprehensive position involves preparing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate quality records, as well as inspecting materials, processes, and finished products to ensure they meet the processes and standards of high-performance composite structures and components for racing vehicles, industrial, aerospace, and defense. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of composite materials and a passion for contributing to the optimization of structural performance through advanced technologies. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless documentation flow while maintaining structural integrity, performance, and safety of composite components within the purview of quality assurance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, maintain, and update quality related documentation. Ensure accuracy and compliance of documents using internal policies, industry standards, and applicable standards.
- Inspection and Testing: Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to established standards.
- Compliance and Standards: Fulfill job duties in accordance with AS9100, NADCAP, and FAA specifications.
- Attention to Detail: Proficiency in written and verbal communication. A keen eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence.
- Audits: Maintain organized records for internal and external audits. Assist in collecting, reviewing, and presenting documentation for audits, inspections, and assessments.
- Problem Solving: Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, sales, and customers to deliver new and existing projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Some college preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in composites Quality Control/Quality Assurance, documentation management preferably in the aerospace or racing industry.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards in testing and inspection methods of composite materials and finished goods.
- Familiarity with regulatory industry standards.
- Skills:
- Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and meet deadlines.
- Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Composite Quality Control Methods — Knowledge and hands-on experience with advanced composite testing, inspection, and internal auditing.
- Industrial control software — ERP software.
- Standard Office Software
