What are the responsibilities and job description for the Repair Operator position at Aerofab Division of Tube Processing Corporation?

Position Overview:
A repair operator will perform dis-assembly, fabrication, re-assembly, and repair of tubes, ducts, manifolds and sheet metal fabrications for aircraft components.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications and collaborates with engineering to determine sequence and methods dis-assembly, fabrication, re-assembly, and repair of tubes, ducts, manifolds and sheet metal fabrications for aircraft components
- Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material, using scribers, dividers, squares, and rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics, layout techniques, or templates to develop and trace patterns of product or parts
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines, for example shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials
- Repairs and maintains tubes, ducts, manifolds and sheet metal fabrications for aircraft components
- Repairs surface defects, for example dings, dents, and buckles, in finished metal items using dolly blocks, ding and pick hammers, and other hand tools
- Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form, using hand tools. Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces, using hand tools and portable power tools
- Follows Operator Acceptance Plan when completing paperwork and signing off procedures
Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply basic level principles of algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding furnished in written, and/or oral English, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- A&P License or active repairmen certificate preferred
Additional Requirements
- Adhere to rules and regulations of a FAA Safety Sensitive Position
- May require forklift certification
