The Opportunity

Within Aeroflow, the Revenue Cycle Support team is comprised of 10 Team Members and growing.

Corporate oversight of Revenue Cycle Functions – Eligibility, Authorizations, Claims Transmissions, Rejections, Denials, Underpayments, Recoups, Equipment Returns, Payment Posting and Reconciliation, Patient Billing.
Support Business Unit Billing Teams and Sales Teams to Maximize Receipts and Collection Percentage.
Cross Functional Team with Comprehensive Understanding of Revenue Cycle Functions.

Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Recoupment / Returns Specialist. This role is typically responsible for :

Reviewing, documenting, and indexing recoup requests from insurance companies into various computer applications.

Researching equipment and supplies returned to warehouse to determine if a recoup / refund to insurance or patient is necessary. Correct billing lines and account as needed.

Requests and coordinates with finance department to process refund checks for payers and patients.

When possible, refund patients electronically through payment processing system.

Communicates payer trends regarding recoups to Business Units and Stakeholders.

Manage relationships with payer contacts and third-party contractors regarding recoup requests and reconciliation.

Employee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.

Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance

Maintain HIPAA / patient confidentiality

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills for Success

Basic knowledge of revenue cycle functions, medical insurance terminology and the ability to interpret an explanation of benefits (EOB).

Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and proven track record in achieving productivity goals.

Demonstrates ability to learn computer applications as they relate to job duties and proficiency in the practice management system. This includes managing multiple proprietary applications simultaneously to complete tasks.

Ability to communicate in a professional manner, multitask and maintain a positive teamwork attitude.

Analytical : this role requires the ability to identify trends, core issues, and report them to supervisor and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred.

2 -5 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle.

You might also have

Experience with DME billing, specifically products provided by Aeroflow Business Units. Maternal Care, Urology, Sleep and Diabetes.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills. Ability to write basic queries, understand database structure.
