Overview
The Aeromotive Group is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to lead financial operations for our Roadster Shop Division, the premier manufacturer of restomod chassis and custom restomod cars.
In this critical role, you will oversee daily transactional accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain precise accounting records. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing the trial balance and account reconciliations, as well as supporting the annual financial audit. Additionally, you will provide leadership and guidance to the payables and billing teams, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in daily operations.

The ideal candidate is a proactive hands-on leader with strong accounting skills and eager to seek opportunities for efficiency in processes. This role will be a business partner to the CEO of The Roadster Shop with reporting responsibilities to Corporate Controller and the CFO.
Pay 100k-125k DOE
FLSA: Exempt
Location: Mundelein, Illinois (onsite)
Responsibilities
Oversee the execution of the month-end close process and preparation of the business unit financial package
Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, GL functions, treasury functions, and liquidity management
Supervise accounts payable, ensure timely and accurate vendor payment
Supervise billing activities and maintain positive customer relationships
Manage the company’s sales and use tax liabilities and payments
- Preparing weekly and monthly reporting packages with key performance indicators, analyze account fluctuations and trends
- Work closely with other departments to assist in preparing budgets, forecasts and cash management with a focus on identifying opportunities to further drive profitability
- Perform other related accounting duties as assigned
Assist in various ad-hoc projects as needed, including but not limited to -
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- ROI Analysis
- Implementation and / or improvement of the company’s IT systems
- Cost Accounting and Margin Analysis
Skills & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of GAAP Accounting principles and Cost Accounting
- Proficiency in financial systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in maintaining and managing general ledger and month-end close procedures
- Expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments
- Self-starter with an extreme sense of ownership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Global Shop Solutions
- Experience working in a standard cost environment and updating standard costs
- Experience working with a private equity owned business and / or a leveraged environment
- Experience implementing operational improvements related to the finance and accounting organizations
