Our client in Waukegan is looking for an energetic and skilled Accounting Manager with experience in Manufacturing to oversee the financial operations. This pivotal role involves managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and team leadership. This position will require you to work in the office 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Maintain and improve standard costing systems, inventory valuations, and variance analyses.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, production variances, and operational efficiencies.
- Develop cost-saving strategies to optimize profitability.
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Compare actual performance against budget, identifying and explaining variances.
- Develop, implement, and enhance accounting policies and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and facilitate internal audits.
- Work closely with operations, supply chain, and other departments to align financial objectives with business strategies.
- Support ERP system implementations and enhancements to improve financial processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a leadership role within manufacturing.
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
