About the Role:
Aerothreads is a fast-growing company in the Aerospace industry that specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blankets. We are seeking a Material Planning Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless handoff of technical designs to manufacturing. This position is responsible for tracking and managing material needs for all projects from kickoff through handoff. The manager will analyze demand forecasts and collaborate with various departments to align material availability with production needs. Ultimately, the Material Planning Manager contributes to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that materials are available when needed, thus supporting timely production and delivery of products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience in material planning, supply chain management, or related role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Experience with Costpoint system including managing manufacturing orders, inventory management, and product definition.
- Experience with reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and their associated bill of materials.
- Ability to work with minimal management oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in design meetings including preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Coordinate configuration change board and engineering change requests.
- Utilize Cost Point for material planning including creating Material Knitting Forms for Supply Chain Manager using bill of materials, technical drawings, and other design documentation.
- Create manufacturing orders to track material consumption during manufacturing.
- Create Aerothreads specific fabrication documents as required.
- Coordinate material availability and inventory levels with Supply Chain Manager.
- Perform all work in compliance with the company’s quality control standards, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
