Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all activities required to process inbound and outbound shipments. Activities include verification that documents and data entry match the details of the shipments (i.e. products, quantities, weights, etc.) and resolving any discrepancies.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Coordinate shipping details with carriers and communicate status
- Ensures products shipments meet all standards for quality and are shipped on time
- Load/unload trucks and trailers according to safety standards and work instructions
- Enter data and process shipment records in ERP system
- Ensure all packaging or shipping containers meet quality standards for shipment
- Print and affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment
- Package items in containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
- Bind containers with metal tape, using strapping machine
- Print and maintain shipping and receiving documents
- Inspect shipments for damage and report results according to work instructions
- Route non-inventory items to recipients or departments
- Maintain cycle count inventory of shipping/receiving materials and supplies
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies
- May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (5S)
- Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures (5S) i.e. production floor, shipping & receiving office and warehouse as needed
- Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience & Training:
- High school diploma/GED with 1 years of experience in shipping/receiving/material handling
- One to two years of related experience preferred
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, volume and apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions and procedure manuals
- RF gun experience preferred
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to walk, stand, and bend in a manufacturing setting for an entire shift. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work
