Position Summary
The Front Desk Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional environment. This position involves answering and triaging phone calls, scheduling appointments, managing patient check-in and check-out, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.
Responsibilities
Phone Management:
- Answer and triage incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
- Direct calls to the appropriate staff or department.
- Provide information to patients about services, appointment availability, and office policies
Scheduling:
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Coordinate with providers and staff to ensure an efficient appointment flow.
- Assist patients in understanding pre-appointment requirements or procedures.
Patient Interaction:
- Greet patients upon arrival and ensure a warm and welcoming environment.
- Check patients in and out, verify insurance information, and collect necessary forms.
- Address patient questions or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate patient records in our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collect payments and issue receipts for services rendered.
- Assist with maintaining office supplies and inventory.
- Ensure the reception area is organized, clean, and well-stocked.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional administrative or medical office training (preferred).
- Previous experience in a medical or customer service role (preferred).
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
