Job Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients and managing relationships with existing clients. This role involves working outside of the traditional office environment and requires frequent travel to meet clients in person, attend industry events, and conduct on-site visits. The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-driven, and skilled in building and maintaining client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation and Prospecting:
- Identify and qualify potential leads through various channels including networking, referrals, industry events, and online research.
- Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and generate business opportunities.
- Client Meetings and Presentations:
- Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with potential and existing clients, typically outside of the office.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
- Sales Negotiation and Closing:
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to close deals effectively.
- Develop and present customized proposals that address client requirements and drive sales.
- Account Management:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and foster repeat business.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Sales Tracking and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status using CRM software.
- Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, client feedback, and market trends to management.
- Market Research and Strategy:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Develop and execute strategies to stay competitive and meet sales targets.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with internal teams such as marketing, customer support, and product development to align sales efforts and meet client needs.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to share insights and feedback.
- Travel and Field Work:
- Travel frequently to meet clients, attend trade shows, and participate in industry events as required.
- Conduct fieldwork and on-site visits to build and maintain client relationships and explore new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in outside sales or business development, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Infor CRM software, sales tools, and office productivity software.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is often preferred but not always required.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with a proactive approach to sales.
