AFCO Performance Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for an organized professional with experience in accounts payable and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
About the Role
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a critical role in our accounting team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. You will be responsible for reviewing expenses, reconciling invoices, and maintaining financial records that impact the general ledger and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices for accuracy and proper approval before payment
- Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies with statements or invoices
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure timely payments
- Monitor company expenses and assist in budget tracking
- Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting regulations
- Assist with additional accounting tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Education: High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience preferred
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Knowledge of Business Central (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
