What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Assembly Technician position at AFCO Performance Group?
DeWitts Radiator, a division of AFCO Performance Group, is seeking a highly motivated Lead Assembly Technician to join our growing team.
Daily activities include organizing and expediting all work for the radiator core assembly team, operating and maintaining semi-automated machinery, actively participating in daily production, aiding the assembly team with all needs, overseeing brazing operations, and ensuring quality standards are met. You will flex to many different work stations within the assembly area and plant to gain skills necessary to support the output of the assembly department.
We are looking for a team member that enjoys goal setting and teaming up to exceed expectations. We work in a climate-controlled environment, Monday through Thursday from 5:30am to 4:00pm. There are NO work hours on Saturdays and Sundays. The most successful team members adapt well to change, notice details naturally, and sincerely care about others & enjoy a family-like atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
· Participate in the assembly of products in a fast-paced production facility
· Schedule and balance work orders and recognize goals
· Monitor productivity, implement efficiency improvements and safety initiatives
· Maintain quality control standards to ensure product meets specifications
· Keep a clean and safe work environment
· Operate a Hi-Lo (training and annual certification provided)
· Operate hand tools and equipment (metal saws, braze furnace, stamping machines, core builders)
· Maintain great attendance in accordance with our attendance policy
· Work closely with Production Manager to ensure department success
Physical Requirements:
· Frequent pinching, grasping, fine manipulation with fingers, reaching overhead
· Constant walking, standing, and working with your hands for an entire shift
· Frequent bending/reaching, twisting
· Ability to frequently lift 30 lbs., rarely lift < 50 pounds, occasionally carry <50 lbs. and rarely push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Minimum Requirements:
· Previous team leader role and responsibilities within a manufacturing environment
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office bundle
· Familiarity with productivity reports, associated metrics, and time studies
· A post-secondary degree or certificate is preferred
· Enthusiasm, passion, and pride in your work
· Demonstrated ability to work with Metric and US measuring standards
· Good oral, written, and electronic communication skills
· Recognize and acknowledge the high moral quality and goodwill of the Company
· Capable of leading a team and following instruction from a supervisor
· Completion of background check and drug screening prior to employment
