Spring Office - Referral Coordinator
Dynamic medical office is in search of an EXPERIENCED family practice Referral Coordinator to assist providers/medical assistants in obtaining referrals and prior authorizations for their patients. This position is a full-time position for Spring, Texas location.
Essential Job Duties
- Coordinating with providers, medical assistants and patients to prepare referrals when required.
- Coordinating with providers, medical assistants and patients to prepare prior authorizations when required.
- Properly record information in the patient’s electronic medical record.
- Schedule patient appointments for patients in our office, the offices and facilities patients are referred to.
- Make follow-up calls to patients.
- Make follow-up calls to other physician offices and facilities.
- Perform administrative office tasks.
- Provide assistance at the front desk.
- Key data into computer to maintain clinic and patient records.
- Scan documents and attach to patient’s electronic medical records.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current healthcare professional level CPR certification
- Knowledge and experience with referrals and prior authorizations with a variety of insurances
- Knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software
- Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records; specifically, Epic is a plus!
- Must be a team player
- Polite, friendly, and professional manner required
- Must be accurate and detail oriented
- Must have a proven history of being dependable at previous employment
- Family Medical Practice experience a plus!
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus!
- Knowledge of insurance plans is a plus!
