Affinity is currently looking for a Medical Transportation Driver who has a valid and clean chauffer's license.

Job Summary:

The Medical Transportation Driver is responsible for providing safe, courteous, reliable, and timely transportation to and from healthcare appointments for insurance members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients and members utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner
  • Effectively communicates with dispatch regarding schedule progress and to receive instructions
  • Complete pick-up and drop-off trips in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
  • Courteously assist members as they enter and exit the vehicle
  • Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations regarding non-emergency medical transportation and member confidentiality
  • Complete thorough pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and report needed repairs to management
  • Professionally represent Vantage and Affinity at all times

Marginal Duties:

  • Assist with phone volume and scheduling in the office as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age requirement for transporting passengers: 23 years of age due to insurance requirements
  • Proven experience as a Driver, minimum of 5 years driving experience
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license, with no careless operations, DUIs, and no more than three moving violations in the past three years (some restrictions apply)
  • Class D Chauffeur’s license required
  • Must have a minimum visual acuity of 20/30 or have corrected vision of at least 20/30
  • Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) driver certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Must pass and maintain a clean background and driving record
  • Must pass and maintain a clean drug and alcohol screening
  • Must love to be a road warrior
  • Must understand instructions in English, both written and spoken
  • Must be able to accurately complete activity logs and vehicle reports
  • Must be able to drive long hours (8 to 12 hour shifts)
  • Must be physically able to step up and down steps, safely secure clients for transport, lift up to 75 pounds, and transport wheelchair patients on paved and unpaved surfaces
  • Familiarity with GPS devices
  • Dependable, reliable, and timely
  • Knowledge of area routes
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly to change

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Supervision Received:

  • Works under general supervision of the Transportation Operations Manager

Working Conditions:

  • Drivers are required to pass random drug and alcohol screens
  • Overtime will be occasionally required
  • Travel required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a vehicle, prolonged sitting, fine dexterity with hands, fingers, feet steadiness, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Vision requires constant mental visual attention to details as well as ability to see well in limited light scenarios. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
