On behalf of our client, Affinity Group is looking for a Technical Business Analyst for a 12 month contract. Candidates must be located in the Lower Mainland and have the ability to work on site in Vancouver three times per week.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Technical Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to bridge technical and functional requirements, analyze system architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions. With a technical background, including 3 years of SQL scripting, this individual will be comfortable working with code and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document technical and functional requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to review system architecture and propose enhancements.
- Write and execute SQL scripts to support data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business terms.
- Participate in code reviews and provide input on system design and functionality.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for improvement in existing processes and systems.
- Support the development and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including user stories, process flows, and technical specifications.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.
- Strong SQL scripting skills for data manipulation and analysis.
- Understanding of system architecture and ability to review and propose improvements.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
