Job Purpose:
Affordable Fence Company is a growing business looking to expand to more locations throughout Michigan. This General Manager/Estimator will have the exciting opportunity to help grow the new Flushing location.
The Role of the General Manager/Estimator is to direct and manage our organization's business activities and sales in this new location. The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of fencing installation, great customer service skills, and strong leadership qualities.
Job focus will be to learn and manage company policies, direct activities towards long term goals and profitability, create a lasting positive culture for employees and customers. Proficiently build, develop and lead a professional team that is successful in completing day to day to our standards. Provide professional project estimates and invoices for customers.
Starting compensation for this position is between $60k to $75k yearly with a profit share incentive program.

Responsibilities:
- Professionally represent Affordable Fence Company
- Develop expertise in product knowledge, technical knowledge, industry and process knowledge in relevant product areas
- Study and learn your current marketplace, competitors and industry trends in order to create a competitive advantage for your location
- Overseeing daily business operations of the business (Installations, Sales, Supply and Office)
- Oversee the continued training of staff
- Evaluating performance and productivity of employees
- Maintain professionalism of all employees and respond immediately to employee issues and customer needs
- Interact with customers and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
- Address potential client queries in a timely and professional manner
- Create estimates for projects, follow up with customers, close sales
- Invoicing and Accounts Receivable
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Owners

Experience and Education:
- 3 years in fencing or construction related field/industry in a management/leadership role with 4 direct reports
- Highly skilled in verbal and written communications
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with clean record and reliable transportation
- Excellent verbal communication skills, leadership skills and have a proactive nature
- Experienced at reading and interpreting construction drawings/plans
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, mentor and bring a diverse group of people together to work effectively
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small or large group situations to customers, homeowners and employees in the organization
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make prudent decisions
- Strong knowledge of MS Office or G Suite, Quickbooks or accounting software, CRM software
