AFWC is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This role offers growth potential in a small office environment, collaborating with senior estimators and executive management.
As an Estimator/Project Manager, you'll use your skills to help clients achieve their goals by analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate estimates, and managing projects from takeoff to closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and budget compliance. Strong industry knowledge and relationship-building skills are essential. This role is designated as an onsite position and is not a remote opportunity.
How you'll spend your days:
Project Estimating:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and documents.
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates based on company standards.
- Conduct precise quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
Project Management:
- Manage logistics, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement.
- Maintain updated construction documents and facilitate permit applications.
- Coordinate with project team, owners, and design professionals.
- Oversee bid solicitation, contract administration, change orders, and project close-out.
- Ensure all project goals are met within safety, quality, schedule, and budget guidelines.
- Handle all aspects of project coordination, documentation, and stakeholder.
Supplier and Subcontractor Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Secure competitive pricing and ensure compliance with industry standards.
What we're looking for from you:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
- 3 years of experience in the construction industry required, preferably progressive experience in construction estimating and/or in the field.
- Internship/apprentice related experience and/or training desired
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft and project management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to conduct quantity take-offs and cost control.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities within time constraints.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and design principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and building construction.
