Job Description : Project Engineer
GENERAL
Responsible for supporting project team in execution of the project.
Responsible to maintain project contract documents including updates to drawings and specifications.
Manage project submittal and RFI process and workflow and prepare weekly tracking reports for project team review.
Ensure trade partners and design team are aligned with timing of submittals and are prioritizing submissions and reviews based on project workflow / sequencing and current material / equipment lead times.
Review trade partner RFIs and submit to design team as necessary.
Attend project trade coordination meetings and collaborate with Project Manager and Project Superintendent in coordination interacting trades.
Establish good working relationship with project design professionals to facilitate timely review of submittals and a collaborative team approach to design and coordination issues.
Attend regularly scheduled Owner-Architect-Contractor and Trade Partner meetings and prepare project status reports and meeting minutes for project manager review.
Facilitate and manage communication of project information among all members of the project team – trade partners, design team and stakeholders.
SAFETY & QUALITY
Responsible for assisting team to ensure work is performed according to and adheres to OSHA and safety standards.
Responsible for collecting and reviewing project safety documentation.
Review and track QA / QC action items from third party inspection agency daily reports and design team field reports. Facilitate resolution and document closure of action items.
Manage and track project punch list completion.
SCHEDULE
Track and document daily work progress and productivity metrics and provide report to Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
Provide actual and projected start and finish dates for Monthly Project Schedule Updates.
Develop and maintain / update material and equipment status tracking logs.
COST CONTROL
Review submittals, RFIs and contract document change issuances for scope changes and work with project manager to maintain project cost event logs.
Facilitate submission of change proposals by trade partners for scope changes and work with project manager in logging costs into Procore.
Assist project manager as needed in management of owner and trade partner change orders, monthly costs reporting and forecasting and monthly payment application process.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Create project close-out tracking matrix and manage submission of warranties, attic stock, as-builts, operation & maintenance manuals, final certifications, testing reports and trade partner financial close-out.
Assist project admins and accountants as needed in tracking and obtaining insurance certificates, bonds, certified payrolls, and EOP documentation.
EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
College degree in engineering or construction management
Procore
Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams & OneDrive
