LOCATION: Floating position, travels to all buildings
DETAILS: 10-month support staff position, on a 190 day calendar for 2025-26, with district-recognized holidays and paid sick and personal leave. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, with a district provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance. This position requires the ability to attend committee meetings, summer meetings, and after hour meetings as necessary.
COMPENSATION: According to the Off-Schedule salary structure. The pay for this position begins at $65,000 annually. This is an exempt position as displayed on the District Nurse Coordinator job description. Placement is determined by like experience and education.
JOB SUMMARY: Support the physical, mental, emotional and social health of students and their success in the learning process; support student success by providing health care assessments, identifying problems, planning, intervention, follow-up and health evaluations for all students within the school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma and minimum of two year associate's degree are required, BSN preferred
- RN license is required
- A minimum of two years of school nursing experience is required
- Prior school nursing experience, or experience working with school-age children is required
- The knowledge of working with children with disabilities is preferred
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AEDS (defibrillation equipment) training are required
- The ability to teach classes in CPR, First Aid, and AEDS (defibrillation equipment) is preferred
- The ability to maintain confidential information is required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to work from written or oral instructions under limited supervision are required
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and self-motivation are required
- The ability to effectively prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines is required
- The ability to lead and supervise health room personnel
- The ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required, experience with Google Applications is preferred
- Strong word processing, data entry, spreadsheet and database skills are required, experience with student data management databases (SIS, PowerSchool, etc.) is preferred
- The ability to present information and respond to questions from parents and school staff in a positive, professional manner is required
- The ability to communicate effectively with students in redirecting and using positive reinforcement is required
- The ability to solve problems and respond to situations in a calm, caring manner is required
- The ability to work independently, use good judgment, and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations is required
- The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population is required
- The ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task, or assignment is required
- The willingness to learn new material and, as needed, attend professional development is required The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with building and district staff is required
