The crew behind American Financial Resources (AFR) is looking for candidates for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to play a critical role in supporting the company's strategic and financial objectives. This leadership position is responsible for leading the FP&A function, providing strategic financial guidance, developing and maintaining financial models and forecasts, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the mortgage industry and its financial drivers, business operations, financial accounting principles, and a proven track record of success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
In this role you will…
- Lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, providing strategic financial guidance and support to senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts, including annual budgets, long-range plans, and quarterly forecasts.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning.
- Prepare and present financial reports and presentations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team of financial analysts.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis.
- Perform other duties as needed within similar skillsets and competencies.
Qualifications
You would be great for this role if you…
- Possess a strong academic background with a bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Have 10 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role and 3 years in the mortgage industry.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw insightful conclusions.
- Possess excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Are proficient in financial modeling and data analysis tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC).
- Are highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for excellence.
- Possess strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team.
