Overview: African Alliance of Rhode Island is seeking an energetic and organized individual to join our team as a Field Day Coordinator. The Field Day Coordinator will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing successful field day events for students. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills. There will be 40 hours of on-farm field day learning conducted over 10 Saturdays, every other week. During these events, students will visit CT and RI farms to see these concepts in practice, and network with potential farme mentors. Sometimes the students will work together on different farm projects (such as constructing raised beds or other farm amenities).
Supervision: Field Day Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of [Company or Organization
Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning:
Develop, plan, and execute engaging and well-organized field day events based on client
or organizational requirements.
Collaborate with clients or team members to understand their goals, preferences, and
specific event needs.
2. Logistics Coordination:
Coordinate logistics for field day activities, including venue selection, equipment rental,
transportation, and other necessary arrangements.
Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained for the event.
3. Activity Coordination:
Plan and organize a variety of field day activities, games, and contests suitable for the
target audience.
Work with vendors and activity providers to secure necessary supplies and equipment.
4. Participant Engagement:
Interact with participants and ensure they have an enjoyable and memorable
experience.
Provide clear instructions and support during field day activities.
5. Safety and Risk Management:
Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the well-being of participants.
Identify and address potential risks associated with field day activities.
6. Budget Management:
Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring that all expenses are within approved
limits.
Track and report on expenses related to field day events.
7. Communication:
Coordinate with project communications staff to capture required information
pertaining to field days
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and participants before, during, and
after events.
Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of event planning.
8. Post-Event Evaluation:
Collect feedback from clients, participants, and team members to evaluate the success
of field day events.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes for future events.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
