Cooking Instructor for Elementary - Middle School Students - After School Program
Rate:

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cooking Instructor to lead a non-bake culinary class for elementary & middle school students in our after-school program this coming fall season. The instructor will engage students with hands-on lessons, covering various non-bake techniques and recipes, ensuring a fun, safe, and educational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute a non-bake cooking curriculum suitable for a summer program, balancing learning and enjoyment.
- Prepare and submit lesson plans, including ingredients, equipment needs, and recipe instructions.
- Supervise and interact with students, providing individual attention and adjusting lessons as needed.
- Manage the classroom environment, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards.
- Engage with students to foster a passion for cooking and encourage creativity.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a chef, cooking instructor, or similar culinary role.
- Proficiency in various non-bake cooking techniques and recipes.
- Experience in gardening is a plus and can be helpful in teaching students about where ingredients come from and encouraging sustainable practices.
- Strong communication and motivational skills to engage and inspire students.
- Ability to plan and organize a comprehensive non-bake cooking curriculum.
- Adaptable teaching style to meet the needs and interests of students.
- Must pass a background check and Live Scan.
- Must complete additional online trainings as required.
Schedule:
- 2 hours - Thursdays.
- The hours could range between 3:30-5:30pm.
