Network Administration
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues.
- Assist in configuring and installing routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Ensure the security of network systems by applying updates, patches, and monitoring tools.
- Support users with VPN access, Wi-Fi issues, and other connectivity-related concerns.
- Provide support for Windows operating systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory or similar systems.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.
- Perform routine backups and system checks to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues via helpdesk systems, email, teams, or phone.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Document IT incidents, solutions, and processes to contribute to the knowledge base.
- Train and support users in best practices for IT system usage.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of hardware, software, and IT supplies.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on larger-scale projects and implementations.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to current systems.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Educational, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network , CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, or equivalent).
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Entra, AWS, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Experience with common IT hardware (printers, desktops, laptops) and troubleshooting techniques.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash is a plus.
