Position Summary:

As an Assembly Technician at Ag Express Electronics, you will be responsible for fabricating high-quality wire harnesses and cable assemblies from schematics and wiring diagrams. Your effective communication skills will enhance cross-functional collaboration among production team members and allow for continuous improvement of harness fabrication processes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring project success through meticulous attention to detail in delivering efficient results and upholding excellent customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

  • Perform a wide variety of fabrication processes including wire marking, soldering, crimping, connector termination, and assembly.
  • Apply sound judgment for reworking or rewiring, ensuring adherence to quality control standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation, with a dedicated focus on meeting cable assembly requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by seamlessly adapting to new or challenging tasks and projects.
  • Actively seek ways to support team success through the enhancement of fabrication processes and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate accurate information promptly to team members, managers, and customers, playing a key role in efficient communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to problem-solve and ensure efficient completion of projects.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively on all assigned duties.

Documentation

  • Complete accurate documentation of cable assembly builds and work orders, keeping track of order status and overall project success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of various wire harness tools, including manual and pneumatic tools.
  • Maintains a positive outlook on navigating challenges with a solutions-oriented approach, prioritizing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Works well both individually and as part of a team with the ability to adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and dependability in delivering quality results.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in wire harness and cabling fabrication, interpreting cable wiring diagrams, and schematics is preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment and computer applications such as Microsoft 365.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to manipulate small components, connectors, and wires with precision and accuracy during the assembly and testing of cable harnesses.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally, the role may involve lifting and carrying equipment, tools, or materials weighing up to a certain limit.
  • Standing and Walking: Some tasks may require standing and walking around the facility for limited periods of time, such as collaborating with coworkers and testing certain equipment.
  • Visual Acuity: Good eyesight and visual acuity are important for reading technical diagrams, inspecting electrical components, and identifying small details during the repair and testing process.
  • Sitting for Extended Periods: Much of the work may be conducted at a desk or workstation, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods
  • Repetitive Motion: Some tasks, electronic assembly or testing, may involve repetitive motions of the hands, arms, or fingers. Ergonomic practices should be followed to minimize the risk of repetitive strain injuries.
  • Safety Awareness: Awareness of and adherence to safety protocols and procedures is essential when working with electrical systems and equipment to minimize the risk of electrical hazards or accidents.
