Position Summary:

Ag Express Electronics is seeking a skilled Electronics Production Manager to oversee outsourced PCBA production and manage in-house electronics assembly, testing, and final product integration. In this critical role, you will be responsible for vendor management, technical procurement, production planning, and quality control, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards. The Electronics Production Manager role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to optimize production efficiency, cost, and quality while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is located at our Sulphur Springs, Indiana location.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Vendor Management

  • Oversee relationships with outsourced PCBA vendors to ensure quality control, cost management, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage in-house electronics assembly, testing, and final product integration processes.
  • Monitor production schedules, identify bottlenecks, and drive process optimization and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015, IPC standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain availability of equipment, materials, and supplies for seamless production operations.
  • Serve as the key liaison between production, supply chain, and procurement teams.

Technical Procurement & Inventory Control

  • Lead procurement of electronic components, PCBs, and related materials, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and timely availability.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, mitigate supply chain risks, and manage lead times.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to maintain optimal inventory levels while controlling costs.
  • Oversee supplier performance and work with the team to address any procurement-related challenges.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all production activities align with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee incoming inspections and work with vendors to resolve non-conformance issues.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records, ensuring full traceability of components and finished products.
  • Support failure analysis and corrective actions for production-related defects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to align production with business needs.
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI) by collaborating with design and manufacturing teams.
  • Provide technical support for production issues and drive improvements in processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication across all production teams.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing electronics production team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and mentorship on new production processes, equipment, and quality control.
  • Address employee concerns professionally, maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Strategically delegate tasks and optimize team workflow and productivity.

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Planning:

  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to optimize production.
  • Assist in developing long-term production strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electronics manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory control.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, production management, or PCBA procurement

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small components and operate precision tools.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing and Walking: Frequent movement in a production environment.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to inspect components and read technical schematics.
  • Repetitive Motion: Working with electronic assemblies, testing, and soldering.
  • Safety Awareness: Adherence to workplace safety and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols.
