Position Summary:
Ag Express Electronics is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, processing orders, and coordinating with various departments to meet customer demands. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk encompasses responsibilities such as handling outbound shipments, conducting precise inventory transfers, and maintaining accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities:
Shipping:
- Receive in, inspect, and document incoming shipments of goods, materials, or products.
- Verify the accuracy of deliveries against accompanying documents such as packing slips or purchase orders.
- Performs packaging, labeling, and preparation of outgoing shipments for delivery to customers, suppliers, or other destinations.
- Selects appropriate shipping methods, arranges transportation, and ensures timely dispatch.
- Closely monitor emails to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.
- Ensures outbound parts and repair shipments are packed securely, processed accurately, and shipped efficiently to their destinations.
- Handles credit card transactions securely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and freight forwarders to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, resolve shipping issues, and ensure timely arrivals of shipments.
Inventory Management:
- Maintains accurate inventory records by updating databases or inventory management systems.
- Tracks stock levels, conducting periodic counts or audits, and identifying discrepancies or shortages.
- Address shipping and inventory-related issues promptly and proactively to minimize disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.
Documentation:
- Creates and maintains detailed records of all shipping and receiving activities.
- Records shipment details, tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and any relevant documentation for regulatory compliance.
Quality Control:
- Inspects incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and accuracy.
- Verifies the accuracy of shipping destination information to prevent delivery errors and delays.
- Identifies damaged or defective items, initiating returns or exchanges, and communicates discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adheres to safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to handling, storage, and transportation of goods.
- Follows proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations.
- Organizes and maintains the receiving area, including keeping it clean, orderly, and free of obstructions.
- Performs equipment maintenance and ensures compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure Precise Shipping Destination Information: Verifying and ensuring the accuracy of shipping destination information to prevent delivery errors and delays.
Receiving:
- Unpack incoming shipments with meticulous attention to detail and conducting quality inspections to ensure items meet specifications and standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate the transfer of inventory between different locations or departments within Ag Express Electronics.
- Compare packing slips received with corresponding purchase orders to ensure accuracy and facilitate proper tracking of inventory.
- Organize and stock received inventory to facilitate easy access, retrieval, and inventory management.
Data Entry:
- Record customer data accurately, including billing, return, and repair information, to maintain up-to-date records and ensure accurate customer communication and service.
- Utilize Acumatica ERP software proficiently for basic inventory management tasks, such as data entry, inventory tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the management team to support and assist with additional responsibilities or special projects as needed to ensure the smooth operation of shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.

Education and Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in shipping, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred.
- Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment and computer applications such as MS 365. Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to manipulate small components, connectors, and wires with precision and accuracy during the assembly and testing of electrical systems.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally, the role may involve lifting and carrying equipment, tools, or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and Walking: Some tasks may require standing and walking around the facility for limited periods of time, such as collaborating with coworkers and testing certain equipment.
- Visual Acuity: Good eyesight and visual acuity are important for reading technical diagrams, inspecting electrical components, and identifying small details during the repair and testing process.
- Sitting for Extended Periods: Much of the work may be conducted at a desk or workstation, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods
- Repetitive Motion: Some tasks, electronic assembly or testing, may involve repetitive motions of the hands, arms, or fingers. Ergonomic practices should be followed to minimize the risk of repetitive strain injuries.
