Job Description:
The primary functions of this position are to originate grain from local producers, to provide marketing education for Ag Valley Coop customers and to help achieve Ag Valley Coop's Grain Department goals.
Essential Duties:
- Originate/buy grain by phone and producer visits.
- Explain grain marketing choices to grain producers.
- Educate/assist grain producers in grain marketing.
- Update grain bids and distribute as needed: locations, producers, website, and app.
- Stay current on events affecting the market and Government programs.
- Manage grain offers.
- Build relationships with producers throughout the trade area.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college (preferred); or a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Computer knowledge to include standard office systems.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and positive, persuasive, and credible attitude.
