Starting Salary Range: $50,000 – $54,000
Agape currently has an opening for a Bilingual Clinical Therapist. In this role the Therapist will have a variety of responsibilities. Some of these duties are listed below.
- The delivery of direct clinical and counseling services to a variety of clientele. Must be able to clinically assess and diagnose mental health disorders and identify individual and family needs/issues.
- The preparation and presentation of workshops for professional and non-professional groups, usually in church settings.
- Appropriately develop treatment plans, goals and objectives with clients. Will document all client interaction.
- Prepare needed reports for the Director of Clinical Services.
- Available to work in multiple site-based settings, i.e., different schools, communities, apartment complexes, etc. Required to have access to an automobile for business use, maintain a valid drivers license, and maintain the appropriate levels of automobile insurance. A flexible schedule is required, with occasional weekend and evening hours as needed.
- Provide appropriate 24-hour emergency coverage for client crisis, consistent with legal and ethical requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and approved and planned relevant workshops, seminars, and training events.
- Participate in other Agency functions, i.e. community awareness events, advocacy activities, fundraising events, etc.
- Uphold the ethical guidelines of the helping professions, i.e., psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, etc., while being centered by the spiritual guidelines of the Bible.
- Maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with Agape staff.
- Serve as an advocate for Agape Child & Family Services and the communities we serve.
- Will perform all other duties within the scope of this role, as requested by the immediate supervisor or any member of the Agape Leadership Team.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
- Prolonged walking and standing, and climbing stairs within churches, schools, and community sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree within clinical discipline, i.e., psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc., or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Licensure in this field in the state(s) clinically practicing is highly preferred. Preference will be given to licensure recognized by third-party payers and to certification as a school counselor. Experience required. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required. Prefer an effective speaker to present on issues related to this field. Demonstrated computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Will be required to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed. Must have an automobile available for business use and maintain a current driver’s license and current auto insurance with acceptable levels of coverage. Candidate must be willing to engage in Agape’s Performance Quality and Improvement (also known as Continuous Quality Improvement) standards of quality & excellence.
