Job Description:
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment that supports the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of toddlers. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with young children and the skills to foster their growth through structured activities and play.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities to promote development in key areas such as language, motor skills, and social interaction.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of toddlers by maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Encourage toddlers to develop self-help skills such as dressing, eating, and toileting.
- Use positive discipline techniques to guide toddlers in appropriate behavior.
- Monitor and document each child’s progress and share updates with parents and the administrative team.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational program.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (CDA preferred).
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and engage in physical activities with toddlers.
