Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other care needs. This role requires a strong understanding of resident rights, memory care, and the unique challenges faced by individuals with dementia.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide direct support to individuals in group home settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or community events as needed.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.
- Foster positive relationships with clients while respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition or behavior.
- Support clients in developing skills for independence and self-care.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of home care practices and familiarity with systems that support client well-being.
- Understanding of resident rights and the importance of advocacy in care settings.
- Experience in memory care or dementia care is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others lead fulfilling lives.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.91 - $17.20 per hour
