JOB SUMMARY
As an integral member of our finance team, the Accounting Manager will support the VP, Corporate Controller in overseeing the company’s accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accounting Manager will oversee all aspects of revenue recognition processes, cost accounting, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing accurate financial reporting.
This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of revenue and cost accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and supervise the revenue recognition, cost accounting, and inventory management functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and company policies.
Manage the implementation and ongoing compliance of revenue recognition standards (IFRS 15), including the review and assessing appropriate accounting treatment for revenue contracts.
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue recognition, cost accruals, and inventory valuation for multiple U.S. locations to meet established HQ and management deadlines.
Perform detailed analysis of revenue streams, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory turnover to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare, review and/or approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in revenue recognition and inventory management.
Monitor and interpret new accounting standards and regulatory changes related to revenue, inventory and cost to ensure compliance and implementation across the US locations.
Coordinate the internal and external audit processes for assigned areas within established timelines.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with J-SOX and regulatory requirements.
Lead process improvement initiatives, streamline procedures, and enhance efficiency within the finance function.
Oversee the preparation of supporting revenue schedules utilized by AGC America for the US tax return, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Assist management with the design and implementation of accounting software and ERP systems.
Support VP, Corporate Controller and the finance organization in special projects and initiatives as needed.
Complete other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including IFRS and US GAAP
Proficiency in accounting ERP systems and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
Preferred:
CPA certification preferred.
Microsoft Dynamics AX or 365, preferred.
COMPENSATION RANGE
$108,080 - $148,610
