Job Description:
Salad and Go is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead team members in a manufacturing environment, providing clear direction, leadership, and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, coaching, and on the job assignments. This is being done as the organization transforms into a Continuous Improvement and Lean environment.
As a Production Supervisor, you will:
Direct team members and plant floor activities. Training, directing, and disciplining team members, and evaluating their performance. Focuses on driving Safety, quality, and productivity.
Ensuring employees adhere to food safety guidelines GMP and implementing health and safety procedures.
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and company regulatory requirements
Provides leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
Tracks team members work performance and attendance to ensure performance metrics are met, including resolving issues in a timely manner. Establish daily٫ weekly and monthly objectives and communicate them to team members.
Utilizes metrics/data to evaluate and improve work processes, as well as maintain line related system and regulatory documentation. Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
Collaborate with other supervisors and cross-functional teams to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
Plans and establishes work schedules
Monitor, support, and enforce all food safety and manufacturing procedures
Ensure food waste is minimized, and food safety guidelines (Storing Food Properly, FIFO) are always applied.
Inspect raw ingredients for quality.
Safely and efficiently operate production equipment, such as mixers, slicers, blenders, and conveyors to produce products.
Package and box finished good materials for shipping.
Maintain cleanliness and handle food products in compliance with quality control procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, face masks, and other safety gear, as mandated by OSHA and Company policies.
Adapt to changing production demands and meet daily performance goals.
Work independently and as part of a team in a structured production environment.
Requirements:
High School Diploma; additional degree in engineering or other relevant area preferred
Have 2-5 years of experience in production management, preferably in the food processing industry
Ability to comprehend complex operations and problem-solving orientation
Be proficient in the English language. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint SharePoint
Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
Perform many job duties in refrigerated conditions (35-40°F) for extended periods.
Follow all safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and OSHA regulations.
Safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Remain on feet for the majority of the shift while performing repetitive motions, including reaching, bending, and twisting, as required.
