Through products such as silos, grain drying and moving equipment, and connected controllers to improve animal welfare, the company’s mission is to provide smart solutions to ensure sustainable agriculture.The North America team is currently looking for a General Counsel who will serve as the chief legal advisor to the company, providing expert and strategic legal advice to management, reporting to our CEO. This role involves overseeing all legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law and experience in a business environment focused on project business.Your ImpactProvide legal advice to the executive leadership team on a variety of legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, and employment law to support the company’s business objectives and project goals.Evaluate compliance needs of the GSI group and work with management on establishing a compliance team; lead that legal and compliance team and oversee the company’s compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with the company’s projects and operations, implementing policies and procedures to mitigate these risks, as well as represent the company in legal proceedings and manage relationships with external legal counsel.Design and implement company policies and procedures in a post-carveout environment, review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, as well as maintain and update corporate records, including minutes of board meetings and shareholder agreements.Support negotiations with customers, dealers, vendors, and suppliers.Develop and lead internal training programs on legal and compliance issues.Your Experience and QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in Illinois.Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate law, preferably in a business environment.Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and risk management with high ethical standards and professional integrity.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, including a pragmatic approach to resolving legal and business issues.Your Compensation and BenefitsExpected total compensation for this role will be $230k – 240k, dependent upon job-related knowledge, experience, and skills.Benefits will include the ability to elect health care and wellness plans, dental and vision plans, flexible and virtual work options (where available), 401(k) Savings Plan with company match, paid holidays, paid time off, health savings and flexible spending accounts, reimbursement for continuing education, life insurance, and other supplemental insurance plans.Your WorkplaceYou will be working in a remote role based in Assumption, IL.We value inclusion and recognize the innovation a diverse workforce delivers to our farmers.
