Overview :
The Accounting Manager provides support and is a critical part of the organization’s accounting department. This position will assist in managing the departmental day-to-day operations, overseeing organizational systems for gathering data, analyzing information, confirming the accuracy of reports and providing recommendations for improving processes and optimizing accounting systems. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for understanding all types of financial operations within Agfinity and assisting in the implementation of departmental and financial initiatives.
Essential Duties :
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
- Ensure all accounting tasks are completed with a sense of urgency and accuracy to meet deadlines, ensuring the smooth operation of month-end closings.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including preparing journal entries and reviewing balances to ensure proper classification and reporting.
- Review accounting procedures and policies to ensure there is a consistent method for handling the processes, and regularly follow up to provide updates, improvements, and training.
- Apply GAAP knowledge to include cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, payables, and equity.
- Use experience with IT system implementations for optimizing projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s financial software and coop accounting.
