We are seeking a mid-level Network Support Engineer to join our team. This role will primarily focus on supporting our engineering team by configuring, testing, and troubleshooting network devices, as well as monitoring network performance and maintaining critical infrastructure databases. A key aspect of this position involves collaborating an offshore support team, ensuring issues are resolved effectively and communication is clear and consistent. This role is a blend of technical configuration, monitoring, administration, and team oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Provide configuration support for network engineers, including device loading and configuration.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of network devices.
- Monitor and maintain the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) within ServiceNow.
- Manage PRGT (Performance Reporting and Graphing Tool) monitoring, including adding and removing equipment.
- Oversee an offshore support team, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective information relay.
- Set up network devices and configure monitoring rules.
- Utilize basic networking knowledge to perform tasks such as checking switch configurations.
- Work with the offshore team, who utilize SolarWinds for network monitoring.
- Utilize ServiceNow for ticketing and incident management.
- Collaborate with the vendor responsible for managing routing protocols.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Qualifications:
- Mid-level experience in network support or a related role.
- Solid understanding of overall networking concepts.
- Experience with device configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring tools and database management (CMDB).
- Strong communication and team management skills.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred).
- Experience working with offshore support teams is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of routing protocols.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with SolarWinds.
