What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Assistant position at Agile Staffing, Inc?
Schedule Monday- Friday weekends as needs
5am - 1:30pm
- ? Accurately process incoming and outgoing shipments by ensuring all items are properly labeled and corresponding documentation is included. Verify product identity, quantity, and quality before dispatch or receipt.
- ? Maintain and update inventory records through the ERP system, ensuring items are categorized correctly and stored in the appropriate locations. Perform regular searches for misclassified inventory and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- ? Review work orders to identify picking and issuing requirements. Pick and pack orders in accordance with specified instructions, ensuring accurate and timely shipment preparation.
- ? Prepare and verify bills of lading, ensuring all shipment details such as weight, dimensions, and piece counts are recorded accurately. Ensure compliance with all company policies and shipping regulations.
- ? Assist in loading and unloading trucks and containers. Ensure proper handling, secure stacking, and safe retrieval of materials and goods from trucks to avoid damage and maximize space utilization.
- ? Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing goods for quality, damage, and discrepancies. Document any defective or damaged items and initiate replacements according to company policies.
- ? Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and other materials-handling devices to move and store goods. Ensure adherence to safety protocols while using equipment.
- ? Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, production, and operations) to ensure the availability of packaging materials and proper stock levels. Communicate any shortages or replenishment needs.
- ? Assist in scheduling and coordinating with freight carriers for the timely and cost-efficient shipment of goods. Help resolve shipping issues and delays by working with vendors and internal teams.
- ? Support and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Participate in safety audits and continuously strive to identify and eliminate potential hazards in the shipping and receiving process.
