POSITION OVERVIEW FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Agilitech has an excellent career opportunity for a Renewables Business Development Professional reporting directly to the Director of Renewables. The Business Development Professional will be responsible for developing and nurturing business relationships with both existing and prospective clients. This role focuses on identifying and qualifying potential opportunities, with a keen eye on turning leads into tangible sales prospects, playing a key role in developing the sales pipeline. This role is focused on the Commercial & Industrial sector of Renewable Energy.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Market Research and Analysis
- Create and manage a strategic sales plan to penetrate vertical markets, driving growth and delivering revenue to meet or exceed revenue quotas.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients within the renewable energy sectors.
- Understand market factors, and competitors while collaborating with both the client and internal stakeholders to solve client needs.
Business Development Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies tailored to the unique needs of the renewable energy markets.
- Identify key decision-makers and stakeholders within target organizations and build relationships to foster business opportunities.
Lead Generation and Prospecting
- Cultivating and nurturing customer relationships through various channels: email, phone, and face-to-face interaction.
- Qualify leads based on potential fit, financial viability, and strategic alignment with company goals.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, pitches, and presentations to prospective clients.
Client Relationship Management
- Nurture and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their evolving needs and identifying opportunities for additional services or collaboration.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and solutions that drive value and enhance client satisfaction.
Collaboration and Coordination
- The candidate will work closely with the Estimating and Project Execution Team Leaders to identify and develop project opportunities, while also leading negotiations and managing partnerships.
- Collaborate on the development of marketing materials, campaigns, and strategies to support business growth initiatives.
- Provides operational support: track and manage Agilitech’s renewables business development activities, ensuring smooth execution and timely follow-up.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
- Renewable Energy Expertise: Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies like solar, battery, and their applications, and market trends.
- Project Development: Advanced knowledge of commercial solar system design and proficiency with Helioscope and Energy Toolbase.
- Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze project financials, calculate returns on investment (ROIs), and develop compelling financial proposals. Familiarity with ITC, MACRS, IRA incentives, and renewable energy credit (REC) markets.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations and incentives driving the renewable energy market.
- Sales & Negotiation: Proven track record in achieving sales goals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
- Market Analysis: Strong research and analytical skills to identify and assess potential opportunities in the renewable energy market.
- Proposal Development: Skill in crafting compelling proposals that win projects, including technical details, financial projections, and value propositions.
Requirements
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in marketing, communications, business, and/or construction or related field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a business development professional in the commercial and industrial renewable energy field.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Exceptional ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- Superior communication skills: both written and verbal; expresses self clearly and effectively; uses proper organization and grammar in written communication.
- Exceptional presentation skills; effectively prepares formal presentations of ideas and proposals; effectively expresses self to groups and individuals.
- Is persuasive; uses appropriate methods and styles of communication to gain acceptance of an idea, plan, activity, or product.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other related software.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial solar system design and use of the industry standard tools; Helioscope and Energy Toolbase.
- Knowledge of commercial solar equipment and solutions: panels, racking, inverters, and batteries.
- Knowledge of all system types: roof mount, ground mount, carports, etc.
- Professional contacts in the energy markets of California.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Travel is primarily in the defined sales market. Out-of-area and overnight travel is to be expected as business needs require.
