About the job:
We are seeking and to join out West Bend, WI second shift team, Agility Retail Group_ Heartland Woodcraft_. The hours for the position are 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with occasional overtime.
In this working lead role, the Shipping & Receiving Lead will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities in the shipping and receiving department. They must manage their own time, and that of others, to ensure that scheduled hours/shipments are met.
As part of our production team, your responsibilities will include:
- Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling) and give weights and dimensions to the logistics coordinator.
- Stage finished product for loading.
- Load finished products onto trucks and take pictures for documentation purposes.
- Review production requirements/schedule with Account Manager every day.
- Request paperwork for shipments if needed.
- Responsible for accuracy of shipping paperwork.
- Move raw materials to warehouse staging area and finished product to warehouse storage.
- All finished product being moved to the Finished Goods warehouse area should be clearly identified and readable from the floor to the top shelf.
- Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged raw material is accepted in.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Operate forklifts (with certification) & trucks.
- Complete necessary paperwork daily.
- Communicate with supervisors and managers.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off equipment when not in use. All truck chocks are to be picked up at the end of the shift and put on the shelf by the loading dock. Gates must be locked at the end of the shift unless there is an after shift pickup scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned. (Packaging, Assembly)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
- Request shipping materials. Maintain supplies adhering to just in time principles.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/characteristics:
- High school diploma
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to wrap, push and strap fixtures for shipping.
- The ability to lift-up to 50 pounds, occasionally more, is required.
- Ability to work both independently and in groups
- Must be willing to work overtime if needed.
- Must be punctual and reliable
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds or occasionally more. Occasional physical exertion is required. Assisting in the loading of trucks, moving materials, or generally helping others will be required from time to time. Machinery operation may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, respirators, and work boots. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Adherence to company handbook guidelines required
