Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Executive to join our Managed Service Provider (MSP) team in Northern Illinois (based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois). In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. You will serve as the face of the company, building strong relationships with prospects and clients, understanding their IT needs, and delivering tailored solutions.
This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales expertise, and excellent communication skills to effectively represent our services, including IT support, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, telecommunications, structured cabling, camera systems and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities within target markets.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and demos with prospective clients to understand their IT needs and position the MSP’s services as the solution.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads using CRM tools and other sales technologies.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including C-level executives and IT managers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the sales cycle, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed.
- Regularly follow up with clients to provide updates, answer questions, and reinforce the value of the MSP’s services.
Technical Knowledge and Solution Selling:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors to position the MSP as a leader in the market.
- Work with technical teams to create customized proposals and solutions that address client pain points, including managed IT services, cloud migration, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity.
- Communicate the value proposition of managed IT services in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including technical staff, marketing, and account management, to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasts, reports, and updates to management.
- Provide feedback from the field to inform marketing strategies and service improvements.
Qualifications:
- Proven success in B2B outside sales, preferably in the IT or managed services industry.
- Strong understanding of managed IT services, including IT support, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships with decision-makers.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Central Illinois.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and other IT solutions.
- Experience working with MSPs or IT service providers.
