Job Overview

As Senior Sales Engineer for Agilysys across the EMEA region, you will be a trusted technical & operational leader supporting the Sales team throughout the consultative sales process. Your primary responsibility is to diligently scope, assess, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both customers and Agilysys, using your consultative and operational knowledge.

This role encompasses all Agilysys products, including but not limited to Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) solutions. PMS solutions include Booking Engines, Spa, Golf, Sales and Catering, Retail, and more. POS solutions include Mobility, Dining reservations, Kitchen Display systems, Inventory & Procurement, Analytical reporting tools, Payments and additional products as released.

You will have the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling, relatable stories that demonstrate the value of our solutions, whether presenting to executives, technical and operational teams, or end users. At the same time, you actively listen to customers to understand their challenges, goals, and needs.

By crafting narratives that resonate and asking thoughtful questions, you build trust, inspire confidence, and ensure tailored solutions that address unique customer circumstances, making you a valued partner in the sales process.

Your Duties Include :

  • Leadership : Lead a current small scale, but knowledgeable Sales Engineering team, consisting of one MENA based Solutions Architect.
  • Product Demonstrations & Presentations : Designing and delivering engaging product demonstrations and presentations to stakeholders at all levels, both in-person as a primary objective, but also virtually as and when appropriate. Ensure that features and product USP’s are matched to benefits, commercials returns and efficiencies.
  • Pre-Sales Support : Consult with customers to understand their requirements, identify existing “pain points”, define solutions, respond to RFPs, and prepare SOW (Statement of Work) documentation.
  • Company Promotion : Represent Agilysys at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote our products and solutions with the expectation of delivering demonstrations.
  • Research & Development Support : Provide insights for product requirements and participate in opportunity reviews to inform future product development.
  • Maintain Demonstration Environments : Work closely with product owners to ensure that all sales demonstration environments are operational, updated, maintained, and showcase the latest capabilities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal sales, sales support, and service teams to align solution designs with customer needs and timeline expectations. It is imperative you keep abreast of product development and maintain close working relationships between all product owners.
  • Opportunity Advancement : Collaborate with the sales team to pursue and advance opportunities effectively within the sales cycle.
  • Travel : Your role will include the need for UK & overseas travel throughout the year (including USA and India).
  • Other Duties : Take on additional responsibilities as required to support team goals and company objectives.

Requirements for Success :

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical education and relevant work experience.
  • Experience : 3-5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in a related customer-facing technical and / or operational role.
  • Product Expertise : Preferred knowledge of both PMS and / or POS along with a strong willingness to learn complimentary products.
  • Industry Knowledge : Deep understanding of the Hotel and Resort sector with Casino, and / or Cruise industries, especially from a technical or user perspective being advantageous.
  • Technical Skills : Strong grasp of enterprise software principles, including APIs, relational databases, networking, and services.
  • Solution Design : Ability to gather input from all stakeholders and design solutions and operational workflows that address customer business requirements effectively.
  • Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in multiple languages preferred.
  • Hospitality Knowledge : Solid understanding of hospitality industry best practices.
  • Personality Traits : Enthusiastic personality with a passion for hospitality and a customer-centric approach.
  • Travel Requirements : Must be willing and able to travel extensively (up to 75%), including internationally.
