Description
Thrive Alliance is primarily funded through State and Federal sources such as Medicare and Medicaid. The Accounting Specialist provides support to the major financial accounting areas; works to see vendor invoices are processed and paid and money is brought into the agency from State and Federal funds.
Duties include : Process and enter Accounts Payable, run A / P checks and electronic fund transfers, process vendor CHOICE, SSBC, Title III and Title III-E invoices, serve as back-up to Accounts Receivable entries, prepare stipend payments, verify and complete bank deposits, enter monthly journal vouchers, assist with annual audits, and other general accounting functions.
Position Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Accounting field knowledge and experience, including payables and receivables, is required. The individual in this position must have a high degree self motivation and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be proficient in math and be very skilled with computer programs, including Excel and Word, and must be proficient in 10-key. Experience with Accounting software is preferred. The individual in the position must be able to prioritize and organize tasks and responsibilities, juggle multiple requests, and meet various deadlines.
The ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of people is required, being cooperative, helpful, and respectful to all.
