Title: IT Support Specialist
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Hours: Contract to Hire - EST
The role
Client is looking to bring on an IT Support Specialist. The position will be onsite, based in the NYC, United States. Reporting to the Corporate IT Director, the IT Support Specialist will have the opportunity to work in a challenging and engaging environment. The IT Support Specialist will play a critical role in providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operations across our IT infrastructure.
What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee and support the onboarding process for new hires, including setting up laptops, creating accounts, and ensuring access to essential services and applications.
Handle the configuration and deployment of equipment, tailoring setups to individual roles and maintaining consistency across all devices.
Beyond onboarding, you will provide day-to-day IT support, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations across all departments. You'll actively monitor and manage the network's health, identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
At our NYC Drone Racing League facility, you will take a hands-on role in network setup and cable management, ensuring all equipment is physically organized according to best practices.
Structured cable management to optimize performance and organizing server racks, patch panels, and network infrastructure.
Work closely with the studio's events team to support a range of events held at the studio.
Set up and manage the technology infrastructure required for each event, address connectivity needs, and provide real-time troubleshooting to ensure seamless experiences.
Partner with other departments to streamline IT processes, contribute to knowledge sharing by documenting common fixes, and work towards enhancing the efficiency and security of our IT systems across the organization.
What you'll bring
Google Workspace & Office 365: Proficiency in managing and supporting productivity suites, including user management, security settings, and collaboration tools to ensure seamless communication and productivity across the organization.
Mac & Windows Operating Systems: Extensive experience in managing, troubleshooting, and providing support for both macOS and Windows environments, including setup, configuration, and software installations to support a diverse workforce.
Mobile Device Management (MDM): Hands-on experience with MDM platforms such as Kanji, with the ability to configure, deploy, and manage devices to maintain security and compliance across all company-issued mobile and desktop devices.
Microsoft Entra: Familiarity with Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), including skills in identity management, access control, and enforcing security protocols to protect sensitive data and streamline access management.
Basic Networking: Knowledge of networking principles, including IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configuration. Capable of troubleshooting connectivity issues, configuring routers and switches, and ensuring reliable network performance for end-users.
Configuration & Troubleshooting: Strong abilities in configuring devices and applications, with a troubleshooting mindset to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, whether it's hardware, software, or network-related.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with end-users, both remote and on-site, ensuring a high standard of support and collaboration with other departments, especially for event coordination and cross-functional projects
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Experience in documenting solutions, creating user guides, and sharing knowledge with the team, enhancing overall IT efficiency and enabling users to solve common issues independently.
Security Awareness: Familiarity with basic security principles, including endpoint protection, user training on phishing, and best practices for data protection to ensure users are informed and vigilant against common cyber threats
