Location- Sacramento CA (Onsite)
Contract- 24 months
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile ServiceNow Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who can also serve as a Scrum Master for a high-performing Agile team. This hybrid role requires strong analytical skills to gather and translate business requirements into ServiceNow solutions, along with the agility and leadership to facilitate sprints, remove impediments, and drive continuous delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis Responsibilities:
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams for ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, interviews, and gap analysis sessions.
- Translate functional requirements into ServiceNow stories, ensuring traceability through testing and deployment.
- Work with developers and architects to ensure alignment of design with business expectations.
- Support UAT planning, coordination, and defect triaging with QA and business teams.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation including process maps, user guides, and release notes.
Scrum Master Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Shield the team from outside interruptions and remove blockers to progress.
- Track team velocity, sprint progress, and report Agile KPIs (burn-down, burn-up, velocity).
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile/Scrum practices and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with product owners to manage and prioritize the product backlog.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration across distributed teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in Business Analysis roles, with 3 years focused on ServiceNow.
- Hands-on knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, or ITAM modules, and ServiceNow platform capabilities.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master for Agile software delivery teams (preferably in ServiceNow projects).
- Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow Agile boards for backlog and sprint management.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles, user story writing, acceptance criteria definition, and backlog grooming.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with CMDB structure, integrations, and end-to-end process flows.
- Knowledge of testing lifecycle and ability to support QA/UAT processes.
- Experience in hybrid delivery environments (Agile Waterfall).
Certifications Optional:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Implementation Specialist (nice to have)
