What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAIP Grader position at AgReserves, Inc.?
Summary:
River Point Farms is seeking (Customer Assisted Inspection Program) CAIP Graders to join our Treasure Valley pack shed team. The CAIP Grader is trained on-the-job by supervisory personnel and certified by the State Agricultural Inspectors as qualified onion inspectors.
Responsibilities:
- Prior to the start of shift, check-in with management on assignments and special work instructions.
- Determine representative sample of onions presented for inspection according to federal or state guidelines.
- Become an expert in onion grading standards.
- Draw samples of onions to be inspected from containers, trucks or storage.
- Adhere to the grading factors using a variety of tools including scales, sizing rings, knife, and other equipment, in the inspection of onions for fresh shipment or for processing according to established federal and/or state standards, export requirements or purchase contracts.
- Legibly record notes, create certificates of grade, and write inspection reports with all pertinent information.
- Coordinate and aid in sample selection.
- Champion best-in-class Food Safety culture and report any and all loss of food safety control.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma of GED equivalent.
- Experience working in a food processing, packing plant, or agriculture environment.
- Prior HACCP experience a plus.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Computer competency with data entry and word processing.
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role which includes vision, use of hands, occasionally lifting up to 30lbs, and standing.
