Summary:
River Point Farms is seeking a team-oriented and dependable Forklift Operator to join our onion processing plant team. The ideal candidate is able to safely and effectively maneuver the forklift and efficiently move the product to the correct areas.
Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of shipping documents and match pallet tags to the shipping paperwork.
- Load product onto truck by referring to shipping documents.
- Notify supervisor of any product shortages and report any food safety/quality issues to the supervisor prior to shipment.
- Stack and separate broken bins for repairs
- Receive, unload, and place work-in-process (WIP) bins and transfers appropriately.
- Move product inside the plant, as well as in and out of storage.
- Food safety is every employee's responsibility. If you make any observations that contribute to the loss of food safety control you must immediately report it to you supervisor
- Follow and champion best-in-class Food Safety processes; report any and all loss of food safety control.
- Champion a world-class safety culture through on-going trainings, effective preventative maintenance programs, positive promotions, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and local policies including OSHA.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma of GED equivalent.
- 2-4 years experience operating forklifts and using RF scanning systems. Previous shipping/receiving experience highly desired.
- Forklift certified and/or ability to obtain in-house certification soon after hire.
- Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Computer competency with data entry and word processing.
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
