Overview:
We are a small-to-medium sized, financially sound, family-owned business with locations across the mid-west. Our primary focus within the company is offering loans to farm operators in the agriculture production industry. This includes farm operators of various sizes and funding needs. As farming is a seasonal business, the work load for this position varies during the calendar year. There is a busy season which generally occurs during the first and last quarter of the year.
As a small-to-medium sized business, we operate at the highest efficiency we can maintain. We are looking for someone who can excel or has willingness to excel in various aspects of the financial accounting world at Agri Business Finance, within our small team. The renaissance financial controller here would be expected, among other tasks, to formulate a yearly budget by month, prepare monthly balance sheets, profit and loss reports, record accounts payable, including running weekly check runs, accounts receivable posting, and prepare various quarterly board reports.
The breadth of the financial controller’s responsibility is not limited to specific tasks, but to the willingness to aid in keeping the company running on all cylinders. Taking the bull by the horns and achieving what is needed to keep the financial functions of the company attained.
This is an on-site position with a private office.
Knowledge areas that will aid this position:
· Banking or Loan Accounting experience would be beneficial, but not required
· Fiserv Accounting and Loan Software Knowledge
Day-to-Day or Month-to-Month Responsibilities include:
· Monitor Daily Cash Receipts and Cash Balances
· Record Daily Bank Transactions including ACH and Wire Activity
· Reconcile Monthly Bank Statements
· Maintain General Ledger – Make Monthly Adjusting Journal Entries
· Prepare Monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statements
· Prepare Monthly Reporting for Agi Business Finance Lenders
· Ensure Financial Compliance
· Budget Preparation
· Quarterly Reports Preparation for Board Meetings
