Position Overview
As a key member of the Controllers team, you will be part of AgriBank's mission to support the people who feed the world. The Lead Financial Analyst leads and engages in AgriBank’s planning processes, including budget planning and forecasting. This position also focuses on forward-looking financial strategies, scenario planning, and aligning the company’s resources with its strategic objectives.
Job Functions*
Financial Planning Preparation
- Develops and maintains detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
- Analyzes financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances and risks
- Improves planning processes, as needed, to provide effective financial planning and forecasting
- Reviews and analyzes actuals compared to budget and forecasts
- Leads planning meetings related to budgeting and forecasting
- Reviews reports for accuracy and improves reporting as needed
- Researches, documents and communicates variances to management
- Responds to questions regarding planning, reporting or data needs from management
- Reviews business planning calculations and adjusts assumptions based on guidance
- Reviews changes to planning model made by financial analysts, service provider or consultants
- Assists and reviews reports prepared by financial analysts related to planning
- Assists and reviews data gathered by financial analysts
- Coordinates forecasting processes with management
- Identifies and communicates planning trends to management
Financial Planning and Decision Support
- Partners with cross-functional teams to identify new initiatives and quantify the financial impact
- Leads scenario analysis to assess potential financial outcomes and risks
- Collaborates with department leaders to align the budget with organizational strategy
- Communicates and facilitates budgeting process
- Review or prepares draft and final budgets
- Responds to management questions regarding the budget
Forecasting and Reporting
- Designs, implements and refines forecasting models to predict revenue, expenses and cash flow
- Conducts trend analyses and leverages historical data to forecast financial outcomes under various scenarios
- Develops rolling forecasts to provide continuous visibility into financial performance
- Presents forecast updates and scenario analyses to senior leadership, offering clear insights and recommendations
Financial Analyst Leadership
- Mentors, coaches and trains financial analysts
- Reviews work product and provides feedback and guidance

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- 5 years public accounting experience or 8 years related experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of internal controls
- Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards and processes
- Advanced knowledge of accounting including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting concepts
- Intermediate knowledge of Farm Credit Association (FCA) reporting regulations and requirements
- Basic knowledge of project coordination principles and practices
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in office software Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced proficiency in general ledger systems
- Advanced proficiency in enterprise performance management systems (e.g., EPM)
- Basic proficiency in reconciliation systems
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

The typical base range for this role is between $95,000 - $147,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
