Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Farm Equipment Operator / Custom Applicator / Truck Driver. This multifaceted role involves operating various types of farm equipment for planting, tilling, harvesting, and applying fertilizers/pesticides, as well as hauling crops, equipment, and other farm materials. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working long hours during peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
Farm Equipment Operation
- Operate and maintain large-scale agricultural machinery (tractors, planters, combines, sprayers, etc.)
- Assist with fieldwork including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
Custom Application
- Safely and accurately apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides using self-propelled or pull-type sprayers/spreaders
- Calibrate application equipment to ensure correct rates and coverage
- Maintain detailed application records and comply with environmental and safety regulations
Truck Driving / Hauling
- Drive semi-trucks or straight trucks to transport grain, fertilizer, equipment, and other materials
- Ensure loads are properly secured and follow DOT regulations
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain logs as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- CDL Class A (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience operating farm machinery and heavy equipment
- Custom Applicator License (or ability to acquire)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and seasonal overtime
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years in a similar agricultural role
- Familiarity with GPS, precision ag equipment, and software
- Knowledge of crop inputs and agronomy practices
Compensation & Benefits:
