Agritek Industries is looking to add an experienced 1st Shift Press Operator / Die Setter to our team.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be skilled in adjusting the press to set and center dies and bring parts into tolerance
- Be experienced with loading steel coils onto uncoilers and know how to adjust roller pressure
- Understand how feed and alignment of material influence part performance
- Adjust machine settings, including feed rates, stroke length, and pressure, to optimize production and ensure product quality
- Be able to use calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, complex gauges, etc. for checking part conformance to tolerances
Press Operator Core Functions
- Safely and effectively setup, troubleshoot, and run all automatic press equipment
- Ensure the proper material is loaded onto uncoiler and fed efficiently into the processing equipment
- Maintain high productivity and efficiency standards
- Work with Tool Room and Quality personnel to troubleshoot part issues
- Be passionate and inquisitive to learn all you can on the job and to gain long term skills and value
- Maintain and care for Agritek plant and equipment and respect fellow employees
- Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal protocol and safety regulations
Tooling and Setup
- Prepare, set up, and install dies in metal stamping presses according to production schedules and specifications
- Adjust press settings (e.g., stroke, pressure, speed) for optimal performance based on material type, die design, and part specifications
- Perform test runs after die installation to verify proper alignment and ensure the press is producing parts within specified tolerances
- Assist in troubleshooting press and die issues, identifying causes of production delays or product defects
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on dies and presses as needed
Quality and Administrative Responsibility
- Perform all quality checks, documentation, and process requirements to comply with Agritek’s QMS and ISO:9001 quality standards
- Correctly identify and report non-conforming parts and work with the quality control team to address issues
- Look for Risk and Opportunity within the department, suggest ideas for improving productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality
Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements:
- 3-5 Years related experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in setting up and operating all aspects of metal stamping presses
- Teaching skills for guiding press operators on proper work practices
- Die sensor troubleshooting experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in press and die operation
- Reliability and consistent attendance is essential
- Physically and mentally able to do job, stamina and strength for tasks
- Favorable references
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour plus a generous quarterly bonus plan (rate commensurate with experience). Typical schedule 45-50 hours/wk.
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs
