About this Role
The Loss Prevention Intern works closely with the Safety Manager and other members of the Plant Leadership team on various tasks and projects to ensure plant compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Draft efficient policies and procedures explaining technical details in plain language.
- Learn about the Agropur business model and champion improvements that increase employee safety and health.
- Acquire and apply knowledge of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws related to dairy manufacturing.
- Collect data to determine the effectiveness of implemented process improvements.
Assignments may include:
- Identify ways to make safety procedures and information available to employees.
- Update training modules and quizzes.
- Perform gap analyses for and update safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with incident and near miss investigations to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in online or local professional development opportunities to ensure effectiveness in carrying out assigned duties.
- Validate Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Validate Confined Space procedures.
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
What You Need to Succeed
- Currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Master's program in Occupational, Environmental Safety & Health; Risk Management; or a related field as a candidate for graduation.
- Making sound decisions consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
- Results-driven, bottom-line oriented, striving to exceed goals, and motivating self and others to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
How Agropur Invests in You
- Hourly wages can vary from $18 to $24 depending on level of advancement and program of study.
- Work in a plant in the dairy food industry.
- Work in close proximity with the internship supervisor.
- Schedule is 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.
- Must be able to travel to the work location.
Salary : $18 - $24
