Position Title: Seed Production Quality Assistant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assistant to join our team! This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality seed possible. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality of seed production and serving as the vital link that ensures the best product leaves our facility. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Seed Quality Control: Process bulk seed samples to determine predicted seed sizing and conversion rates, ensuring optimal product quality.
- Visual Inspections: Inspect all finished seed lots to ensure they meet appearance and quality standards before they are shipped.
- Lab Analysis: Submit samples for quality lab testing and interpret results to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Inventory Coordination: Work with warehouse employees to probe carryover seed based on customer specifications.
- Problem Solving: Monitor finished crop quality results and communicate issues with location managers to take prompt corrective action.
- "Seed on Hold" Management: Initiate and release “SEED ON HOLD” within warehouse and inventory systems when necessary.
- Tagging & Printing: Assist with tag printing for bagging operations to ensure products are labeled correctly.
- Inventory Systems: Maintain accurate inventory records using Remington Inventory Control (RIC) and customer inventory systems.
- Workplace Organization: Keep your workspace neat, clean, and organized to support overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Familiarity with seed production processes or quality assurance roles is a plus.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and data management.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for quality and detail in all tasks.
- Team Player: Collaborative and communicative, ready to contribute to team success and assist in maintaining smooth operations.
- Organization: Ability to maintain organized records and efficiently handle multiple tasks.
